Handbill from The Undergrounds (March 2002)

I had to post this ... if only because it contains one of the coolest band/group names I’ve ever heard. Pentecostal Bouffant is the moniker for a varying collection of musicians. The mainstays of the band appear to be the husband/wife duo of David and Barbara Plank. In any event, they did the singing and playing at The Undergrounds when we appeared on the same bill. Their music is wonderful and quite traditional for most of their set. Think Gillian Welch and “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?".
