What About Bob?
An interview with Laura Harris
CCM Magazine (1996)

An earlier article in CCM Magazine called “Star Struck” sparked this interview. That article was about the elevated place of “artist image” in the marketing of Christian music. "If we weren't in a society that was visually oriented and all we were taking was raw talent and God's ability that He has given," says Ford, "then Bob Bennett would have been signed to a record deal rather than Michael English. Bob Bennett is one of the most brilliant artists I know, but people respond as much to image as message."

Well, I got my feelings hurt and wrote a letter to the magazine that basically said that if this is true then there must not be a place for me in Christian music. Reaction to that letter led to this article.
