Heck has frozen over and Bob's set up his
own little online shop.
What it lacks in snazziness, it makes up
for in earnestness.
And it'll be Bob who packages, addresses,

SIX
STRING PRAYERS CD

Six
String Prayers is
Bob's new release with
guitarist extraordinaire John
Standefer. This
collection marks their first recorded collaboration
and is an interesting musical departure for both
men. Normally Bob's guitar is front and center
on all his recordings. Here, he plays on two
tracks with John's amazing guitar arrangements
and creative accompaniment partnering with
his vocals on all the album's eleven songs.
John
has a string of wonderful instrumental albums and
many years of concert appearances and guitar workshops
across the country. SSP
is the first time he's recorded an
entire album with a vocalist.
John
and Bob handpicked each of the songs ... well, in
John's case he sort of handpicked them all (a little
guitar humor, folks) ... an eclectic mix to be sure. Bob explains,
"We didn't start out to make a worship music genre
album, but there are elements of that here. Is it a vocal
album with lots of guitar passages or a guitar album with lots of
singing? The answer is ... it's really both. We hope each of
our separate audiences will be pleased to "meet the
other guy" and find the work we did together as rich and
satisfying as we felt about it when we were making it."
The songs (right-click on each of the mp3 buttons for a sample):
01 Six String Prayers (John Standefer & Bob Bennett) (6:04)
02 Wayfaring Stranger (Traditional) (6:07)
03 All the Diamonds (Bruce Cockburn) (3:33)
04 Defiant Lamb (Bob Bennett) 4:47)
05 Sometimes (Felice Mancini & Henry Mancini) (1:34)
06 Psalm 5 (Bill Sprouse, Jr.) / Awaken Me (Billy
Batstone) (5:42)
07 Change My Heart O God (Eddie Espinosa) / I Love You Lord (Laurie
Klein) (6:09)
08 Let All Things Now Living (Katherine K. Davis /
The Ash Grove) (4:23)
09 Thankful Boys and Girls (Billy Crockett &
Milton Brasher-Cunningham) (4:07)
10 Abba Father (Bruce Wickersheim) (4:45)
11 When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (Traditional / O
Waly, O Waly) (4:08)
About the
clips ... I had fun doing these. In some cases I rearranged the
actual song structure to give you a taste of John's incredible guitar
work and some of my vocal as well. All web browsers (Internet Explorer,
Firefox, Safari, etc.) are different. I suggest "right-clicking"
on the mp3 buttons and choosing to open the file in a new window or
tab. In some cases, whatever player you have on your system
(Windows Media Player, Quicktime) may pop up. Hope it works for
you.

FINISHED SHOPPING AND READY TO CHECKOUT?
Before doing that ... take a
second to give this a quick read-through:
1/1/08:
It's almost 1:00 AM and New Year's Day. Later this morning, I'm
flying to Memphis to then drive to Greenwood, MS for Roby Duke's
funeral service on Wednesday, January 2nd. The next day I'll fly
to Seattle for a few days to attend a memorial service
there. I'll be returning to Southern California on Monday,
January 7th. All of this last-minute away-from-home days means
that all pending orders will probably not go out until Tuesday, January
8th. Thanks so much for your patience. Although I will have
the company of dear beloved friends over these next few days, this is a
sad time overall. Your prayers for Roby's son Brantley and the
Duke family and friends will be much appreciated.
Bob.
If
you're an experienced eBay user, you know about PayPal. I've used
the service for years as a buyer and seller on eBay. This is my
first venture as an online, from-my-own-website seller. And since
my little "shopping cart" actually runs through PayPal on their web
site, you may have questions. I'll try to anticipate some of them.
--
You don't need to be a PayPal member or registrant to buy from me.
-- But if you are, you can use funds through PayPal or a major
credit
card (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover)
-- AND if you're not a PayPal member, you can STILL use a credit
card.
-- For now, I need to keep the $3.00 per disc S/H in place
without consolidating for multiple CDs. I'll fix that soon.
-- As you add a CD to the cart, the price of the CD and the
shipping charge are both tallied.
-- Each time you add an item to the cart, you'll be given the
option to continue shopping back here or to check out.
-- When you click on "Checkout" and you're not a PayPal member,
it can be a tad confusing. So look for this on the page ...
and
click CONTINUE:

California residents will deal with added sales tax.
-- Hint: Rather than order several of the same title as individual CDs
to specify autograph instructions for each,
choose a quantity (1, 2 or more) and then give me
autograph instructions for multiple CDs in the "added notes" section.
-- Unless you tell me not to, may I assume it's okay to add you to my
Mailing List? (If not, let me know.)
-- There should be a box in the PayPal process that will allow you to
write a brief note to me if necessary.
-- If you request a Six String
Prayers autograph, it will be me only
UNLESS I have some booklets on hand from John
that I can add my name to. I live in Southern
California, he
lives in Southern Oregon. Sorry about that.
Although
the Canadian dollar has historically been under the U.S. dollar, the
tables have turned. Now the currencies are about even, if not
slightly skewed in the Canadian direction. But the bummer for
most of my Canadian friends is that prices have remained static on a
lot of items they buy. Canadians routinely pay about $20.00 per
CD (before any shipping). At least for now, I'm holding the line
on $18.00 USD for all North American CDs (that includes
shipping). So Canadian listeners, thanks for dropping by. I
love what you've done with place and I always enjoy my visits
there.
Hopefully this modest savings will allow you a little extra cash for
necessary
expenses. Like this:
